Using a product that can be filled directly (an electronic control unit, or ECU), this demonstration shows how to perform a leak test using compressed air as the test medium with the CETATEST 820 leak tester.

The pressure loss caused by leaks is quantitatively measured using the differential pressure method.

The test scenario in the production process (passed part and borderline test part, simulated by activating a test leak) is simulated. The measurement results are compared with the permissible test limits. The test result is evaluated (pass, fail). The entire test sequence is controlled by the leak tester.

Demonstration of the influence of disturbing influences and the choice of test parameters on the quality of the test process (distribution of measured values, scatter, repeatability, measurement capability). Evaluation and visualization are performed using the CETA Soft 2G application software.

Leak and Flow Testers for the Industrial Production Process - Production assurance and quality control by 100% routine testing

Leak and Flow Testers for the Industrial Production Process - Production assurance and quality control by 100% routine testing

In certain areas of application, it is essential that a product is reliably leak-tight against the ingress of dirt and moisture (e.g. sensors and electronic control units) or against fluid loss (e.g. pumps). For other products, on the other hand, it must be ensured that the specified flow rate is maintained (e.g. for cooling channels or membranes). This is why these products are tested for leaks and flow rates during production.

CETA Testsysteme GmbH is a solution provider and manufacturer of leak and flow testers and has been active in 100% end-of-line testing for more than 35 years.
Several thousand CETA test devices are in use worldwide in many applications (e.g. in the automotive industry, plastics industry, packaging industry, medical technology) in production lines for quality control.

The CETA range of test devices includes leak testers, mass flow testers, volume flow testers and digital pressure manometers. Compressed air is used as the test medium. CETA test devices can be used to measure leak rates down to 10-3 mbar*l/s (depending on the size of the test volume) and flow rates up to 200 l/min.
With a comprehensive range of test devices and suitable accessories, the right testing technology can be found for practically any testing task.

The test devices are supplied as standard with a 3-year warranty (optionally extendable to 5 years) and with an accredited and internationally recognized calibration certificate (compliant with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) at no extra charge. The calibration fulfills the requirements of the international automotive standard IATF 16949

CETA supports the customer in all phases of their project: from ensuring the technical feasibility and selecting the right testing technology to commissioning, maintenance and calibration of test devices. In addition, workshops and free online seminars are offered. These events provide practical knowledge on all aspects of industrial leak and flow testing.

Leak Tester Series CETATEST 820

Leak Tester Series CETATEST 820

Precise and cost-efficient quality control of series products

The CETATEST 820 is a high-quality and cost-effective differential pressure test device for leak testing of directly fillable products using compressed air.

The differential pressure method is based on the comparison of the pressures in the test part volume with the pressure in a leak-tight reference volume. This test method is used for reliable detection of small pressure losses and low leakage rates.

The CETATEST 820 can be used in automated production processes for leak testing within the cycle time of the production line.

It is operated via the 7-inch touch screen with intuitive user interface. Separate start/stop buttons ensure operating safety even in harsh industrial environments.

The memory stores 100,000 measurement results and 64 test programs.
