Organized by PRODUTECH, the “Technologies from Portugal” national pavilion brings together eight companies and research institutes at EURO DEFENCE EXPO. They showcase innovative dual-use solutions in precision manufacturing, robotics, autonomous systems, location technology, mobile hardware, nanomaterials, and artificial intelligence. The pavilion offers new opportunities for partnerships, supply relationships, and technology transfer with Portuguese industry.
PRODUTECH is the Portuguese Cluster for Production Technologies, an association bringing together companies, research and technology organizations, and other institutional stakeholders across the production technologies value chain — from machinery and equipment manufacturers to systems integrators, software developers, and providers of components and specialized services for industry.
PRODUTECH promotes the competitiveness and internationalization of the national production technologies sector, coordinates collaborative innovation agendas (such as PRODUTECH R3, focused on the reindustrialization of Portugal's production technologies base), and supports Portuguese companies' participation in international trade fairs and missions. As promoter of the "Technologies from Portugal" stand, PRODUTECH is responsible for structuring the national pavilion at Euro Defence Expo, coordinating the participation of co-exhibiting companies and research institutes, and positioning Portugal's dual-use industrial and technological capabilities to European armed forces, systems integrators, and defence industries.
AZITEK is a deep-tech startup born out of academia and based at Porto's leading science and technology park. It develops proprietary radio-frequency-based Real-Time Location System (RTLS) technology operating on license-free radio bands, capable of ensuring simultaneous, accurate tracking of thousands of assets and autonomous vehicles, both indoors and outdoors.
Its industrial IoT solutions — tags resistant to metal interference with multi-year battery life, and gateways capable of monitoring up to 50,000 tags per site — provide continuous asset visibility in demanding industrial and logistics environments, with direct application in supply chains and critical operations.
The Fraunhofer IFAM is one of Europe's leading research institutions in the fields of applied materials science and manufacturing technology. Its Additive Manufacturing Department offers an exceptionally broad portfolio of additive manufacturing technologies for metallic materials. In total, nine different processes are available, including laser- and electron beam-based technologies, sintering processes such as Metal Binder Jetting, additive screen printing, Lithography-Based Metal Manufacturing (LMM), MoldJet, GelCasting, Cold Metal Fusion, and Fused Filament Fabrication (FFF).
With this comprehensive range of technologies, Fraunhofer IFAM supports companies throughout the entire additive manufacturing value chain—from powder development and process selection to component design and the production of finished parts. This integrated approach enables the economical and application-specific realization of complex geometries and highly customized components.
A particular strength of Fraunhofer IFAM is its expertise in processing high-performance materials such as tungsten and tungsten-copper composites. These materials are ideally suited for demanding applications requiring exceptional temperature resistance, wear resistance, or thermal conductivity.
At EUDEX, Fraunhofer IFAM presents itself as a strong industrial partner for additive manufacturing. The institute supports companies in developing tailored AM solutions—from feasibility studies and process and material development to series production—providing access to state-of-the-art technologies and comprehensive expertise from a single source.
CeNTI is a private, non-profit research and development institute, recognized as a Technology and Innovation Centre by Portugal's National Innovation Agency (ANI). It results from a partnership between the University of Minho, the University of Porto, the University of Aveiro, CITEVE, and CTIC, and now brings together more than 200 researchers across 19 state-of-the-art laboratories.
CeNTI develops and transfers disruptive technologies to industry in nanotechnology, advanced materials, and intelligent systems — including new materials, functional coatings, interactive technologies, and sensing systems — with applications in the automotive and aerospace, construction, health, and energy sectors, many of them relevant to technical materials and equipment for military use.
INDX360 is a technology company dedicated to the development of industrial software. Its namesake platform, built on a Plan-Measure-Analyze logic, gives factories real-time visibility over their entire operation — from raw material to finished product — supporting the identification and resolution of production process issues, adherence to quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
The solution contributes to more connected, traceable, and efficient factories — an increasingly central requirement in the defence industry supply chain as well. INDX360 is part of the PRODUTECH R3 mobilizing agenda for the reindustrialization of Portugal's production technologies sector.
INESC TEC is one of Portugal's largest private research and development institutes, associated with the University of Porto, active in robotics, communications, bioengineering, artificial intelligence, quantum technologies, and big data. The institute has been strengthening its commitment to defence and security, presenting dual-use technologies at events such as the Land Defence Industry Day — including Modular-X, a modular, autonomous, fully electric ground robot, an autonomous landing station, and communication systems embedded in unmanned ground and aerial vehicles.
INESC TEC also collaborates with the Portuguese Army, notably through CEMTEx – the Centre for Experimentation and Technological Modernization, and takes part in strategic forums on Portugal's national Defence Technological and Industrial Base.
Infinite Foundry is a Porto-based company pioneering 3D digital twin platforms for industry. Starting from a laser-scanned survey of a facility, the company creates a precise 3D model of the plant, paired with AI-powered, physics-based virtual sensors, enabling real-time remote monitoring, scenario simulation, and automatic correction of operational deviations — with estimated energy efficiency gains of 20–30%.
Infinite Foundry has already presented its digital twin technology adapted to the needs of the Portuguese Army, and is part of the European Space Agency's Business Network.
Founded in 1990 and part of the Portuguese business group VAGA SGPS, Inforlândia is one of Portugal's leading technology companies, specializing in the design, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of mobile computing systems and solutions.
It is one of the largest manufacturers and assemblers of notebook computers in Southern Europe (per Gartner data), and was recognized with PME Excelência status in 2022. Its national manufacturing capacity for rugged, configurable mobile computing equipment is a relevant asset for operational and field applications in the defence sector.
Tecniforja is a Portuguese company specializing in the forging and stamping of technical steel parts, with applications in the automotive, rail, hydraulic, and power/gas transport industries. It stands out for its fully robotized forging process (TR process), capable of producing a monobloc axle sleeve as a single piece — a capability unique in Europe — with an estimated annual production capacity of 2,500 tons, for parts ranging from 150 grams to 40 kilograms.
Tecniforja holds a license from Portugal's Directorate-General for Armament and National Defence Heritage (DGAPDN) to trade and manufacture military goods and technologies, confirming its direct role in the national defence industrial base.
