Four decades of Vision Engineering Germany – precision, innovation and ergonomic microscopy since 1986
Vision Engineering Germany is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. The German sales and service office of the international Vision Engineering Group was established in May 1986 and has since grown to become a well-established partner for industrial microscopy, optical metrology and digital inspection solutions in German-speaking countries and other parts of Central Europe.
In the mid-1980s, the British headquarter, under the leadership of its founder Rob Freeman, decided to establish and open a German branch near Munich in order to meet the already high demand for optical inspection systems in the German market and neighbouring countries, particularly within the electronics industry.
Starting out in a small office in a residential area of a small town, the company moved into its own new premises in 1992 – which it still occupies today – to accommodate its ever-increasing space requirements, with dedicated areas for sales, service and warehousing.
A significant boost to the company’s international profile was achieved with the development and launch of the Mantis eyepiece-free stereo microscope in 1994, which is now regarded as the ‘industry standard’ for low-magnification applications.
For four decades, Vision Engineering Central Europe has been synonymous with innovative technologies, expert consultancy and practical solutions for demanding industrial sectors. The company serves clients in sectors such as electronics, medical technology, the automotive industry, aerospace, precision engineering, plastics technology, and research and development.
Vision Engineering is particularly well known for its ergonomic stereo microscopes without traditional eyepieces, which have set new global standards in visual inspection. Through continuous product development and state-of-the-art digital systems, the company has been responding for years to the growing demands of quality assurance, precision measurement and efficient work processes.
In addition to serving the German-speaking market, Vision Engineering Germany is now also responsible for numerous Eastern European countries – from Poland to Bulgaria. In these markets, the company works primarily with long-standing distribution partners whilst continuing to expand its direct presence. By gradually appointing its own country managers, Vision Engineering is responding to the ever-growing potential and rising demand in Eastern Europe.
“Vision Engineering Germany’s 40th anniversary stands for long-term customer relationships, technological innovation and the dedication of our team,” the company explains. “We would like to thank our customers, partners and employees for the trust they have placed in us and for our successful collaboration over many years.”
Today, Vision Engineering Germany operates nationwide through its sales offices and service centres and is part of a global group of companies with an international presence. In addition to supplying high-quality microscopy and measurement systems, the company places particular emphasis on personalised advice, application support and technical service.
The company intends to continue building on its position as an innovative solutions provider and to drive forward new developments in the fields of digital microscopy, automated measurement systems and ergonomic workplace solutions.
