Defence spending in Europe is increasing significantly. The war in Ukraine, changes in the threat landscape and the development of new military capabilities have led to increases in both defence budgets and investment in new equipment. For the European defence industry, however, it is not only the overall size of these budgets that matters. In particular, the sharp rise in spending on procurement as well as research and development demonstrates the momentum of the market.
